Day 6 - Blessed is the one who finds wisdom

## Day 6 - Blessed is the one who finds wisdom

### Today's Reading is Proverbs 3:21-35

> My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight,

> preserve sound judgment and discretion;

> they will be life for you,

> an ornament to grace your neck.

> Then you will go on your way in safety,

> and your foot will not stumble.

> When you lie down, you will not be afraid;

> when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

> Have no fear of sudden disaster

> or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,

> for the Lord will be at your side

> and will keep your foot from being snared.

>

> Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,

> when it is in your power to act.

> Do not say to your neighbor,

> "Come back tomorrow and I'll give it to you"—

> when you already have it with you.

> Do not plot harm against your neighbor,

> who lives trustfully near you.

> Do not accuse anyone for no reason—

> when they have done you no harm.

>

> Do not envy the violent

> or choose any of their ways.

> For the Lord detests the perverse

> but takes the upright into his confidence.

> The Lord's curse is on the house of the wicked,

> but he blesses the home of the righteous.

> He mocks proud mockers

> but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.

> The wise inherit honor,

> but fools get only shame.

### Questions to Consider about the Reading:

1. What practical benefits of wisdom and understanding are described in this passage?

2. How does this passage describe our relationships with neighbors, and what principles should guide these relationships?

3. What contrast does the passage draw between the wicked and the righteous, and how does God respond to each?

4. Which of these proverbs speaks most directly to your current life situation, and why?

5. How might these instructions about relationships with neighbors reflect Jesus' teaching about loving our neighbors?

### What's One Thing God Wants You to Underline?

Consider underlining verse 27: "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." This verse reminds us that wisdom isn't just about personal benefit but leads to practical action and generosity toward others.

### Ending Prayer

Lord, thank you for the precious gift of wisdom that guides our steps and gives us peace. Help me to keep wisdom and understanding always in sight, that I might walk safely and sleep sweetly. Forgive me for times when I've withheld good from others when it was in my power to act, or when I've envied those whose ways are not Yours. Teach me to be a trustworthy neighbor who does good promptly and seeks the well-being of others. I want to be counted among the wise who inherit honor, not among the proud whom You oppose. Give me a humble heart that seeks Your confidence and blessing. Guide me to apply these principles in my daily interactions, reflecting the love of Jesus to those around me. In His name I pray, Amen.
